I have staked my life on table tennis blades.
When I first started making blades, it was nothing more than passion.
Before I knew it, it had become my destiny.
Day after day, I touched wood,
breathed in the smell of glue,
and used the sensitivity in my fingertips
to feel the slightest differences.
I constantly asked myself how I could make a better blade.
Years passed like that,
and now, the masterpiece NANO 700 3C7 is finally ready to meet the world.
But this journey was anything but smooth.
Every day was a collision with a new wall,
and there were times when I wanted to give up.
Yet because I never did,
I can now leave this story behind.
My question was simple:
“Is it possible to make a blade that’s better than what already exists?”
That question would not leave my mind.
I took apart commercial blades,
compared their performance,
and analyzed rebound, control, and spin,
but none of them were truly perfect.
Most of them had this trade-off:
If the feel was soft, rebound was weak.
If rebound was strong, control suffered.
I experimented with birch, hinoki, standard carbons,
and many other wood combinations,
but the results were still not satisfying.
So I made a decision:
I would abandon conventional approaches
and pursue a completely new structure and technology.
I turned my attention to one of nature’s most robust structures:
the honeycomb.
The honeycomb structure disperses impact
and can form a vacuum-like space,
and I became convinced
it would be an ideal internal structure for a blade.
I began experimenting with a polycarbonate hexagonal honeycomb vacuum structure
inserted into the core layer.
I tested various thicknesses – 0.2mm, 0.3mm, 0.5mm –
and found that the thicker the structure,
the more air pockets it contained,
and the more both rebound and control improved.
The ball stayed on the blade a little longer,
allowing for greater spin and precise control,
while at the same time,
the speed on impact became significantly faster.
However, the honeycomb structure came with a problem: excessive vibration.
The weight distribution was unbalanced,
and during smashes,
too much vibration was transmitted into the hand.
To solve this,
I added an internal shock-absorbing layer
and re-optimized the wood composition.
Step by step,
I moved closer to the performance I was seeking.
Even if the technology is perfect,
it means nothing if the feel at impact isn’t satisfying.
Hinoki is soft and elastic,
but lacks the explosive rebound I wanted.
Paulownia is light with great rebound,
but its impact feel is somewhat sharp and harsh.
The conclusion I reached was this:
place hinoki on the outer ply,
and use double layers of paulownia inside.
The result was a new feel that combined
softness and strong rebound in harmony.
Using carbon to increase rebound is nothing new.
But in most cases,
it increases vibration and reduces the sense of feel.
To solve this,
I revisited the technology from my previous invention patent:
“Table tennis racket with airline installation and its manufacturing method.”
Based on that,
I incorporated 3C7 special carbon into the design,
which reduces vibration while preserving control.
This carbon improved vibration reduction by about 15%
compared to conventional designs,
and it maximized the sensation of the ball coming alive at the fingertips.
It was the moment when softness, rebound,
and precise control came together in perfect balance.
After all the research was complete,
I held the blade in my hand.
The moment I bounced a ball on it,
I knew:
“This is a blade on a completely different level.”
The feel at impact was chewy yet cushioned.
The speed was fast.
The spin was sharp and accurate.
I could clearly feel, through my fingertips,
that the honeycomb air layer
was “holding” the ball.
It was, quite frankly, incredible.
The NANO 700 3C7 is also special in appearance.
The shape of the handle was completed
using a generative AI design system.
The AI simulated hundreds of grip designs,
automatically generating carved lines
that took into account:
optimal balance,
slip resistance,
and the feel in the hand.
The result is a unique GT Goziptong AI-designed grip that unites:
ergonomics,
artistic form, and
tactile finishing.
NANO 700 3C7 is not just a blade.
It is the culmination of years of trial and error, challenge, technology, emotion,
and creative experimentation.
As of 2025,
alongside NANO 300, Nano Cellulose,
and Najeonchilgi blades,
NANO 700 3C7 stands as one of the symbolic works of GT Goziptong,
a brand that has brought unprecedented innovation to the world of table tennis.
The only drawback of NANO 700 3C7
is that the production process is extremely complex
and requires a great deal of handwork.
Because of that,
it’s still difficult to set a fixed price.
For those who truly want to use this blade,
I would rather talk directly,
negotiate honestly,
and deliver it with sincerity.
Products made with such care
do not appear overnight.
As time allows,
I will create them one piece at a time,
with utmost dedication.
“The thousands of failures I felt while touching wood and bouncing balls,
and the one success that emerged from all of them.”
This is not just a blade.
It is a work of art placed in your hand.
GT Goziptong will continue to combine
relentless research with AI-driven design
to set a new standard for table tennis blades.
